The typical lower Bavarian market town with a population of about 2000 residents is enclosed in scenic attractive hilly landscape between the rivers Rott and Inn and centrally located in the middle of the triangle of thermal baths Bad Fuessing, Bad Griesbach and Bad Birnbach.

The close forests, including the extensive “Grafenwald, invite for relaxing walks and hikes on marked trails.

Additionally you can find a football field, tennis courts, playgrounds and possibilities for horse riding in close neighborhood.

Also Europeans largest golf resort Bad Griesbach in in direct neighborhood of Koesslarn.

A highlight of Koesslarn’s sights is the gothic pilgrimage church including its completely preserved defense wall. The baroque style interior of the church and its small but beautiful church museum are a feast for your eyes.

Also the famous pilgrimage trail “Via Nova” goes directly through our nice town of Koesslarn.

Our house is an ideal starting point for a number of leisure activities

Priory there are the thermal baths of the “Rottaler Baederdreieck” Bad Fuessing, Bad Griesbach and Bad Birnbach.

Numerous bicycle and hiking tracks as well as tennis courts and other sporty activities can be found in close surrounding.

In a radius of 20km you can find nine 18 hole and three 9-hole golf courses:

The bavarian-austrian „Europareservat Unterer Inn“, a nature sanctuary with its information center in Ering is just a few kilometers away from Koesslarn and invites for tracking or cycling tours, and also for outdoor informative meetings.

If you are interested for culture, you find the nearby Kloster Asbach, that includes branch office of the Bavarian National Museum and the well worth seeing minster designed by Francois Cuvilles end of the 18th century.

Passau with its three rivers and its comprehensive cultural and leisure activities is reachable within 45 minutes. Also the Bavarian Forrest or Burghausen with the world’s largest castle are noteworthy destinations. Our close location to the Austrian border offers trips to Mozart’s hometown Salzburg, Braunau or Schaerding.
